  AGRICULTURE EDUCATION DISCIPLINE PLAN

The Agriculture Curriculum should be challenging and beneficial to all students who choose to participate in Agriculture classes at Marysville High School.  To assure that each student entering the Agriculture program is given an opportunity to learn, the following discipline guidelines will be followed:

AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT RULES:

Follow directions the first time they are given.
Students shall keep their hands and feet to themselves.
Students shall refrain from loud talk or vulgar language.
Chairs shall be kept on all four legs.
In the laboratories, students shall work on their own projects and shall not disturb other individuals working on projects.
Students shall clean up and pick up after themselves and treat equipment with care.
While participating in Ag-Ed/FFA activities outside of the classroom students will conduct themselves in a professional manner and follow the instructors directions.

REWARDS:

For each three-week period that the entire class goes without breaking a rule, the class will be rewarded with a field trip to an area agricultural business.

CONSEQUENCES OF BREAKING THE RULES:

The first time that a student breaks a rule, the student will be verbally warned.

The second time that a student breaks a rule, the student will again be verbally warned and will serve a 15-minute detention.

The third time that a student breaks a rule, the student will be verbally warned, will serve a 15-minute detention, and the student’s parents will also be contacted about the behavior problem.

The fourth time that a student breaks a rule, the student will be sent to the Principal’s Office, in addition to serving the previous 30 minutes of detention and parental contact.

Following School Board Policy, any student who is sent to the Principal’s Office for the third time, will be suspended without credit for the entire semester.

SEVERE CLAUSE:

Any student who willfully destroys school property or physically attacks another student will be sent to the Principal’s Office.
