The Horticulture class allows students to gain knowledge in the many areas of Horticulture. From studying the horticulture industry to planting, growing, and selling various crops to learning about landscape design, all aspects of the industry are covered. This class utilizes the Agricultural Department greenhouse and hydroponics lab. In addition, students will create landscape designs and floral arrangements.
Students successfully completing this course will:
1. Have a complete understanding of plant parts and their structure.
2. Be able to explain the various plant development processes.
3. Successfully propagate different plants.
4. Evaluate a current landscape and create a new plan using different landscaping design methods.
5. Identify houseplants, annuals, perennials, and trees.
6. Create basic floral designs.
