AGRICULTURE WELDING AND FABRICATION 2519
Prerequisite: Intro to Agriculture and FFA and/or Instructor permission
Credit: ½
Grade: 10, 11, 12
Agriculture Welding and Fabrication will allow students to gain hands on skills that will make them employable in the field of metal fabrication. During this semester course students will be exposed to arc welding and both a stick and wire welder, cutting with the oxyacetylene torch and plasma torch as well as learning to weld aluminum. If time allows, students will plan and complete a metal project.
Students successfully completing this course will:
1. Learn to arc weld in a flat position.
2. Learn to arc weld in a horizontal position.
3. Safely operate an oxyacetylene cutting torch.
4. Develop abilities in operation of a plasma torch.
5. Read a blueprint to construct project.
