AGRICULTURE STRUCTURES 2517

Competency Profile

Prerequisite: Intro to Agriculture and FFA and/or Instructor permission

Credit: ½

Grade: 11, 12

Students enrolled in this semester course will gain experience in building trades that will lead them into future career areas. Experiences will be offered in structural framing, finish carpentry work, concrete and reading architectural plans. Although a broad range of topics will be covered, hands on experience will be gained in each area.

Students successfully completing this course will:

1. Learn the fundamental of using concrete in construction.

2. Understand the framing process for buildings

3. Gain ability in figuring the bill of material for a construction project.

4. Read plans for a building project.
