AGRICULTURE POWER AND ELECTRICITY                                            5218

Competency Profile

Prerequisite:          Intro to Agriculture and FFA and/or Instructor permission

Credit:                    ½

Grade:                     11, 12

Students in this semester course will learn skills to help them prepare for further training in the fields of Ag Power and Electricity.  Exploration of the operation of a 4-stroke and 2-stroke engine will be explored through this class.  As well, enrolled students will layout and wire electrical diagrams and learn the basics of hydraulic systems and how they benefit agriculture operations.

Students successfully completing this course will:

1.        Understand the operation of a 4-cycle engine.

2.        Learn to troubleshoot gasoline engines.

3.        Demonstrate safe work habits while working with power equipment.

4.        Learn to layout and install electrical wiring operations.

5.        Understand use and operation of hydraulic systems.
