Seventh Annual Boys State- A Week to Shape a Livetime
Sunday June 10- June 16- Calling Junior Boys!
"My Experience was tremendous..."- Kevin
"Boys State has come to mean the world to me..."-Mark
"I Really like the experience here..."- Joseph
"I made new life-long friends, and they will stick with me forever..."
These are just a few comments from boys who attended last year. Marysville Seniors, Devin Harmer, Mitch Allen and Tom Hammett enjoyed their experience last summer by meeting new friends, learning about leadership, and being a part of the "Big Picture".
At Boys State,"Staters" will be assigned you a fictitious political party. Each stater will be assigned to one of 10 counties and to one of three cities within that county. Staters participate in mock business sessions in running each governmental body. The goal of this is to teach leadership in the context of a democracy and the responsibilities of living in a free country.
You must be a current junior and be in the upper half of your class, be a self -starter, and be involved in extra-curricular activities.
Sponsorship fees come from local groups with the student paying $30.00 of the $250 fee.
Pick up your application from the Counseling Office today- due Mar 31.
