The Marysville Matmaids organization was founded by Mary Kay Ellenbecker in 1972. This program, in its 39th year here at MHS, is the only one of its kind in the state of Kansas. The Matmaids program was established to help with all of the home wrestling matches.
The matmaids help in many aspects of the matches. During the match they are in charge of keeping the book, score and time clock running. A few Matmaids will also be found in the concession stand serving customers.
Every year the Marysville Wrestling program hosts the Jayhusker tournament during the beginning months of the new calendar year. This is the Matmaids time to shine. Along with the jobs they do at all home duals, they are also in charge of organizing medals for presentations, updating wall brackets and placing names on the wooden bracket the winners receive.
There are two scholarships that are available to both Matmaids and wrestlers. These scholarships are funded by the Matmaids organization, the MHS wrestling club and Marysville Kids Federation wrestling club.
