Recent News:

Six Marysville FFA members competed at the KSU Ag Ed Speech Contest.  Lacey Stock (senior division), Shelby Bargmann (sophomore division), Mitchell Drey (freshman), Martin Howard (freshman and Creed), and Jacob Friedrichs (freshman and creed).  The top performance of the day was in extemporaneous public speaking, as Greg Howard placed as the high individual overall.

The Marysville FFA Speech and Ag Mechanics teams placed very well at the Northeast District level.  Overall, the Speech team placed 2nd.  Individuals placing well were:  Greg Howard  2nd  in extemporaneous public speaking, Lacey Stock 7th in Senior Division, Taylor Schotte 1st in the Junior Division and 7th in extemp., and Shelby Bargmann 4th in Sophomore Division.  Freshman who placed well were Martin Howard (3rd) and Jennifer Vogt (4th), Mitchell Drey (2nd extra) and Anthony Bruna (3rd extra).  Martin Howard and Jacob Friedrichs both participated in Creed speaking as well.

Ag Mechanics A-team placed 8th overall, with the B-team earning 2nd place.  B-team individuals with top 10 placings were DJ Magnall 2nd, Jessica Roady 5th, Roger Middleton 7th, and Jacob Cohorst 8th.

The Marysville FFA teams and individuals placed high in the Northeast District FFA Leadership School on Thursday in Sabetha.  The Senior Leadership team placed 3rd overall in the Leadership School competition, with Greg Howard being named Master Ritual President and Lacey Stock placing 4th in FFA Information. 

 The Greenhand Leadership team was 1st overall placing 2nd in FFA Information, FFA Ritual and Parliamentary Procedure.  Individually Ashley Bruna was named to the Master Ritual team and placed 10th in FFA Information.  Martin Howard was 5th in FFA Information.

 Marysville’s Greenhand B and C teams placed well in their division as well.  The B team was 2nd overall placing 1st in FFA Ritual, 1st in FFA Information and 4th in Parliamentary Procedure.  The C team was 4th overall placing 3rd in Parliamentary Procedure, 4th in FFA Information and 4th in FFA Ritual.  B team division individuals included five of the six Master Ritual positions: Brandon Griffee – President, Cassie Pralle – Vice President, Liz Manley – Secretary, Brandon Escocio – Treasurer and Jacob Friedrichs – Sentinel.  In FFA Information Austin Tillery placed 1st, Cody Ketter was 4th, Jacob Friedrichs 5th, Liz Manley placed 6th, and tied for 8th were Nick Stock, Konner Cue, Garrett Crome, and Brandon Griffee.

Marysville FFA members participated in the 82nd National FFA Convention held in Indianapolis IN.  Garrett Lister competed in the National Extemporaneous Public Speaking CDE, in addition to his duties as Kansas State FFA president.  Phillip Wilson was one of four finalists for the Grain Production Entrepreneurship Proficiency Award.

Congratulations to Roger Middleton who placed 5th at the District Land CDE.   Congratulations to both the Marysville A and B teams who each placed 5th at the District Land Event.  The teams were made up with the Sophomore FFA members in Advanced Ag Science.

Congratulations to the Marysville Nursery Landscape CDE team that placed 4th at the NE District CDE.  Team members included Jessica Roady, DJ Magnall, Kelsi Conrad, Hunter Lindeen, and Rebecca Curtis.

Congratulations to Mitchell Drey who was 5th place individual at Greenhand Conference.  Over 300 individuals participated.
